Two became one

Everyone experiences their own obstacles in life. Getting wrapped up in your own journey is easy to do, which makes staying in touch with friends and family a challenge at times.

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to be a part of a very special wedding. Although life has thrown me some curveballs the past few years since the passing of my fiancé, Brandon, being a part of the celebrations this past weekend made me realize how lucky I am that his family will always be a part of my life. They have embraced me as if I were their own and extended their love to me beyond all expectations.

Exploding with emotions, words cannot express how grateful I am to have so many amazing people in my life. After seeing everything that everyone else has been through, the positivity and love that continue to flow from people despite the challenges experienced in the past few years is an inspiration.

I truly believe that not everything is in our control, and not everything happens for a reason. Being able to hold your head high, support each other through the good and bad, and to learn from our past experience can straighten the bonds between us in the most powerful way. Take a moment and really appreciate today and those who have helped you become who you are today.
